The Phantom Blade Zero Chief Disciple of the Seven Stars encounter is the Seven Judgments: seven former righteous warriors who used their formation to kill powerful enemies, turned into puppets and corrupted by the Transcension procedure. They surround Soul in the positions of the Big Dipper constellation, each carrying its own health bar, but the seven are run as one group rather than as seven separate fights.

The seven bodies
- Six disciples wear white robes with a dark hollow where the face should be.
- Their leader, Decree, wears blue, with a similar hollow face faintly glowing with a ghostly blue flame.
- Decree holds the key position and issues the orders; the other six follow the formation.
Phase one: defeat Decree
Decree must be defeated to complete the phase, but you cannot simply focus him. The disciples sacrifice their own health to heal him when he takes damage, and if fewer than three disciples remain, Decree spends his own health to revive them. The collective total never increases, so the group has to be whittled down as a whole.
In practice:
Read the group attacks as one move
Several disciples launching coordinated multi-directional strikes simultaneously is a single telegraphed move, not several separate hits. One cue, one answer.
Answer each cue as it flashes,
rather than trying to hold a position.
Expect an individual disciple to step in alone
for a quick hit when one gets close to you — that is the group AI moving someone forward, not a new enemy type.
Keep chipping the shared pool
There is no burst window that skips the healing mechanic, so the phase ends when the total is gone.
Phantom Blade Zero Chief Disciple of the Seven Stars attacks
| Attack | Correct answer |
|---|---|
Decree orders the formation to lift him | Can be parried; cannot be blocked |
Decree commands a group attack from a distance | Cannot be blocked or parried; must be dodged |
Coordinated multi-directional strikes from several disciples | Read as one cue and answer it once |
An individual disciple's quick hit when close | Block or dodge — it is an uncolored normal attack |
The lift and the distance group attack are the two that catch people out, because they look like the same family of attack and have opposite answers. One is parryable, the other is dodge-only.
Phase two: the marionette
Three disciples climb platforms and use red threads to manipulate a marionette version of Decree called Tyrannical Decree. The puppet swings across the arena with pendulum-like movement, and its patterns are completely different from the ground fight — chasing it recklessly throws off your rhythm.
The window to counterattack is when it touches down, which happens when it has taken enough damage or when its Sha Chi is emptied.
| Phase two attack | Correct answer |
|---|---|
Red threads fired at long range | Dodge only; cannot be blocked or parried |
The puppet's flying or swinging thrust | Cannot be blocked; dodge it or parry it |
The tool shown against the puppet
The Venomous Softblade was the weapon shown against this fight as the tool for interrupting the threads that suspend the puppet. Its unique block — hold L1, press Triangle at the right moment for a perfect parry — followed by a riposte that massively cuts the target's Sha Chi gauge and shatters their defence, is the pairing that makes the thread interruptions viable.
Being shown one solution is not the same as being the only one, so treat it as the answer worth preparing rather than a requirement. Every weapon category and the named weapons covers what else you can bring.
