The Phantom Blade Zero system requirements cover four PC spec tiers, and every one of them requires a solid-state drive and DirectX 12. Upscaling reconstruction is switched on in all four, so the resolution numbers below are what the game renders at rather than native output.

Ray tracing and path tracing tiers

Two further tiers are published for players who want the full lighting stack. Both are NVIDIA cards.

Ray tracing recommended — 1080p at 60 FPS: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB, with DirectX 12 and upscaling reconstruction enabled.

Path tracing recommended — 2160p at 60 FPS: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB, with DirectX 12 and upscaling reconstruction enabled.

Ray tracing is deliberately not a requirement. S-GAME chose to preserve the look of the game without making it mandatory, which is the reason the base minimum tier exists at all: the intended experience is consistent across the whole range of supported hardware rather than gated behind one GPU generation.

Phantom Blade Zero system requirements checklist

  1. SSD, not HDD

Every tier lists a solid-state drive as required, and none of them offer a hard-drive fallback.

  2. 16 GB of system memory, on both the minimum and the recommended tier.

  3. DirectX 12, which is the required graphics API on every tier including the ray-tracing ones.

  4. A discrete GPU with at least 6 GB of video memory

for the minimum, or the build will not hold the listed frame rate.

Once your machine clears one of these tiers, the next thing worth checking is that you know the layout before you start — the full PS5 and PC button map is the shortest version.
